Winnie + Karina
Both founders of our own design firms, we are connected by our passion in conscientious design.
Working in the design industry over decades (Karina as Interior Designer; Winnie as Architect.), we both feel responsible for how we influence our clients and projects, their impact to our well-being and environment: Is this paint carefully produced with no harmful substance for our clients’ health? Is this furniture well-made and will last long? Is this material sustainable or re-usable?
Behind our client-facing roles, a considerable amount of our time was spent to look for new inspirations: individual artists with messages to tell the world, passionate craftspeople who put their heart & soul in every single piece of their work, conscientious makers who turn construction waste into beautifully made furniture, etc. We introduce these wonderful pieces to our clients, but the stories behind often get lost.
An epiphany came as we were sipping tea in our local Japanese Tea House:
We must give these amazing talents a platform to tell their stories!
